Since 1860, Constant Girard worked on the movement architecture in addition to technical and finishes details. He thus developed the famous parallel "Three Bridges" under which the mechanism was aligned.
In 1889, the Jury of the Paris Universal Exhibition awarded a gold medal to Girard-Perregaux for a masterpiece that has since become a watchmaking icon for all brands and for all ages: La Esmeralda.
